Our Origin

The Motivation for Independence
After working within larger systems and contracted therapy platforms, I realized something essential was often missing: genuine, unfiltered connection. Large networks can sometimes make therapy feel like a transaction, but true healing requires a sanctuary. I founded Cloud9 Empowerment Solutions—an independent private counseling practice in Houston, TX—because I wanted to create a dedicated space where mental health care isn't rushed or dictated by corporate structures, but guided by your unique needs. Here, you aren't a number in a queue; you are seen, heard, and deeply supported with highly personalized therapy and intimate, compassionate care.

The Meaning Behind The Name
When we are going through the hardest moments of our lives, the world can feel incredibly harsh and unforgiving. Growing up, I remember listening to a song where the lyrics said, 'I am doing fine on cloud 9.' Those words always stuck with me because they capture a feeling of ultimate peace, lightness, and emotional safety—a place where you are no longer just surviving, but truly thriving.
I chose the name 'Cloud9' because when you are standing at a painful or confusing crossroads—whether it’s navigating a difficult divorce, mandatory supervised visitations, a major career shift, an addiction, or an emotional crisis—you need a safe place to land so you can eventually reach that state of peace. As a dedicated Houston therapist, my goal is to provide a compassionate sanctuary where clients can catch their breath and recalibrate without judgment. Cloud9 Empowerment Solutions is about finding that space of elevation and steady calm right in the midst of life's storms, offering professional counseling services tailored to help you heal and rebuild.

My Clinical Journey
My journey in professional counseling spans nearly 25 years, starting at the foundational level and evolving into specialized clinical work as a dedicated Houston therapist. I hold a Master’s in School Counseling from Lamar University, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor-Intern (LCDC-I) in Texas. I am also a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS-II). For me, this evolution hasn't just been about collecting credentials; it has been about equipping myself with the most effective, evidence-based therapy tools so I can provide expert mental health care and help individuals and families piece their lives back together with confidence.

My Why
At my core, I believe that no one is defined by their darkest chapter. My passion for helping people navigate abandonment, addiction, anger, and major life transitions comes from seeing how these struggles can silently dismantle a life if left unsupported. Whether I am providing highly personalized therapy in my independent practice or facilitating safe, supervised visits and exchanges, my goal is to create a secure and steady environment for families during their most vulnerable times. Anger is often just unrecognized pain; addiction is often a deeply misguided search for safety. I do this work because I believe healing is truly possible when we strip away the shame and address the root causes. My fundamental belief is that with the right support, you have the power to rewrite the old narratives that have held you back and step into a life that is authentic and empowered.
